Specifications of the new Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra

We are just a few weeks away from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020, which will be a major smartphone launch event for Samsung this year. The event, to be held on February 11, will see some of the major Flagship launches from Samsung and also the clamshell foldable smartphone is expected to be unveiled. Among the most anticipated releases, we find the Galaxy Z Flip and the Samsung Galaxy S20. Now as we are heading to the mega launch event, we have already seen real images of the Samsung Galaxy S20 +.

Some images of Samsung’s new folding mobile phone were seen, but there were only renders of the S20. However, thanks to XDA Developers, first live images of Samsung’s 2020 flagship could be seen online for the first time.

The first thing that catches the attention of this device is its camera configuration. You can clearly see four cameras, assisted by an LED flash. However, there is another hole that could be a fifth camera, although some suggest that it is a microphone hole. But this might well be Samsung’s answer to Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro? Well, we will know about this very Soon.

On the sides, we find the classic volume and power buttons. But the Bixby button, which is Samsung’s assistant, is seen to be missing in this phone. Will Samsung set aside its assistant, or bet on another method of communication?

Moving to the front, we found some really small bezels. In addition, the Infinity-O screen is much less curved than before, so Samsung could have opted for a 2.5D glass at this time. The front camera housed under the punch hole is placed in the center and is smaller than that of the Galaxy Note 10.

S20 Ultra will be the new advanced model

S20 Ultra will be the new advanced model

For those who know the Galaxy S series nomenclature, it is normal to understand the “Plus” variant as the most advanced model. However, this time it will not be so, the Galaxy S20 + will be in the middle of the series, ahead of the normal Samsung Galaxy S20, and one below the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, which will feature new camera technologies.

These new technologies take two paths. The first, a possible main sensor of 12 MP and 1.8 μm; the second, the inclusion of a microphone in the back, which will help improve the audio quality of the videos, being directly oriented towards the objective.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 + are expected to be released in some different variants around the world. Specifically, it is rumored that there will be a 4G version and a 5G version for each one, and this will be dictated by the processor that each one equips.

Logically, the version equipped with the Snapdragon 865 should be the one that carries 5G, and apparently it would be more focused on the US market. Meanwhile, the 4G version should be the SoC Exynos 990, which will focus more on the global market. However, it is worth noting that the launch of the 5G variants in each country will depend solely on the support for this network in that country.

That being said, we gotta wait for the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked mega event to find out what exactly does Samsung do in the launch event. Is it that all leaks are right? We do not know, but we do know that Samsung’s new flagship phones are always very exciting.
