5G service is very much in its initial phase and still there are many carriers who have not yet started 5G services while some of them are still testing the Next-Gen cellular network technology. Nokia 5G will bring a major competition in the 5G smartphone market.

Until now, 5G has only been used in high-end smartphones as thuis technology is very expensive it is inaccessible to most people. Luckily, companies like Xiaomi or Samsung, which already plans to launch a cheap Galaxy 5G, are working hard to create affordable 5G devices available to everyone.

Nokia also wants to follow that trend. HMD Global, the parent group of Nokia brand, has announced that they will launch a Nokia mobile phone with 5G that will be worth half of what 5G smartphones currently in the market are worth. Keep reading to know more in details.

The Nokia 5G will take competition to a brutal force

According to Juho Sarvikas, director of products of HMD Global, the Nokia 5G mobile that they will launch in 2020 will allow them to return to compete in the market. A market that, at present, has limited 5G technology to expensive smartphones. Therefore, from Nokia they see it as a great opportunity to take advantage of all that demand for affordable 5G smartphones, not satisfied until now, to resurface as a brand.

In addition, Sarvikas said its smartpones will cost only half of what current 5G phones are worth. Considering that the price of current phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G or the One Plus 7 Pro 5G, ranges between 700 and 1100 USD, we can assume that the Nokia 5G will come at a price ranging between 400 and 600 USD.

So far, the official price or mobile features have not been announced. By the way, Nokia’s will not be the only 5G mobile that will arrive in 2020, as the first Black Shark 5G smartphone has also been confirmed to arrive that year. So, everything indicates that 2020 will be the year of the 5G consolidation. And tell us, are you excited about this technology?
