Fitbit Versa Lite Review. Steller But Lacking on Basics

Fitbit Versa Lite Review

The Fitbit Versa was undoubtedly one of our favorite smartwatches in recent years. This is why the arrival of its Lite version, the Fitbit Versa Lite has been much awaited here in the editorial office. We have tried it for a long time and now we are ready to tell you its strengths and the weakest ones.

Fitbit Versa Lite Packaging

In the Box, you will find the power cord with the base at which to hook the watch. In addition, you will then have an additional strap (of the chosen color) for the larger size wrists.

Build Quality and Fit

Fitbit Versa Lite Review

Nothing changes practically in the Versa Lite design compared to its big brother. We have the same square dial with rounded corners and a strap of the same shape, even if of a slightly stiffer rubber. Unfortunately, after more than two months of use, we noticed how the blue rubber (in our case) started to lose its opacity. It is a wear that can only be seen against the light but which is certainly unpleasant. The straps are however interchangeable, but only with those explicitly compatible. However, the watch is very light and on your wrist, you will forget you have it, just like the original Versa. The two physical keys on the right disappear and only the main key on the left remains.

Fitbit Versa Lite Hardware

If the design is very similar to the Versa, the Versa hardware is actually quite different. Not that the predecessor had rich hardware equipment, but here we see various components disappear. It has Wi-Fi, the altimeter and the gyroscope. Only the Bluetooth remains and the (precise) heart rate sensor on the bottom. Microphone and speaker go missing, and also GPS is not seen on this device. The trace of physical activity will, therefore, be realized only if the smartphone is connected via Bluetooth to your smartphone.

The excellent Versa Lite display remains the same. We have a 1.34-inch IPS display with a resolution of 300 × 300 pixels. This causes the software and the watch face to be substantially interchangeable. It is a beautiful display, visible even with strong direct light. There is no always-on mode and re-ignition with wrist movement is good but not perfect.

Fitbit Versa Lite Software

We have in effect the same FitbitOS 2.0 seen on Versa. However, the software has been purged of all the features that are no longer compatible, such as mobile payments, exercise coaches, swimming support and step counting. The whole fitness part remains more classic, with the step counter, the 24-hour heart rate tracker and the ability to track running, biking, walking, treadmill, weight and interval exercises.

Still, excellent tracking of sleep and notifications of inactivity during the day will keep you on the edge of your seats. By keeping the physical key pressed for a long time, you can quickly disable the switching on of the display when moving and receiving notifications. Incredible as yet Fitbit has not implemented their automatic deactivation when it detects that we have fallen asleep. Notifications are fully configurable via a smartphone app and have always arrived on our wrist.

One of the flagships of this product, as of all those Fitbit, is certainly the excellent smartphone application that collects our physical activity data in a very understandable and enjoyable way. You can clearly analyze your steps, minutes of physical activity, calories burned or kilometers traveled, aggregating them even for weeks or months. Heart rate and sleep data are also presented clearly. Obviously, the physical activity sessions are also managed very well in terms of the data shown. You can also manually record the food eaten, the liquids you drink and your weight.

Fitbit Versa Lite Battery

The battery has not changed with respect to Versa. With a classic use, you will get about 5 days of battery with this Fitbit Versa Lite which will drop to around 4 if you do some physical activity (traced manually) during these days.

Fitbit Versa Lite Price

Fitbit Versa Lite is sold for Rs. 15,999 at launch. To date, the price has only slightly decreased compared to this figure and can be found at Rs. 15,850 on Amazon. Keep an eye on the price of the product as it may come with a lower price automatically updated with any discounts.
